Hello from Al Anbar,

I am a Marine deployed in Iraq. My name is Brian, I am 36 years old and am from St. Pete Beach, Florida originally. My unit is based out of San Diego, California. I am the team leader of an 11 man unit tasked with border security operations/interdiction on the Jordanian and Syrian borders or Iraq. We recently received a bunch of letters from your kids. I wanted to take the time to thank you very much. Please let the following people know that we are very appreciative of their letters and for remembering us over here (some kids included their grade and teacher, some didn't, some had last names, some didn't).

I also answered some of their questions... here it goes:

Amanda Burnard
Mikaela Miranda (3rd Grade)
Tahj Morales (3rd Grade)
Savannah
Tyler Jordan Abusbah- yes I like chocolate milk... a lot! I also like dodgeball, lots of fun indeed. I don't know what bulloney light is, but I think you meant baloney... it's okay but I like ham better.
Kanii- my favorite food is probably pizza or steak, my favorite activity is probably riding my jet ski when it's nice out.
Crystin Gracia (5th Grade)- I fight so the terrorists will stay here and fight us instead of coming back to America; I don't ever want them back there again. I hope I get to meet you too.
Gabriella- yes, I am feeling well, thank you.
Jahbez Copeland (3rd Grade)
Cecelia (5th Grade, Mrs. Golec) Good luck to you and your sister with the championship!
Tyler McGuigan (3rd Grade)

Please thank the staff and teachers of your school as well. It really made us laugh and smile to read some of these letters. Here is a picture of me with some of the Kurdish refugees we help around here and another is the rest of our team. Thanks again for the letters.

Sincerely,

Brian
