In the Works: Exploring Maple SugaringAlthough it's not Spring yet, Chuck Drake from Northwest Park is already collecting sap for his infamous maple syrup and Win-TV volunteer Keith Rugar went along to learn more about it. Next month Win-TV will feature a program on the maple sugaring process that will show viewers how the delicious syrup is made. Watch as Chuck takes you through the process, starting with gathering sap from various tree locations in Windsor then boiling down the sap to make syrup in Northwest Park's sugar house. Check the channel 5 program schedule in March for air times.

What's new on Win-TV: Latino Music SpecialThis month Win-TV is spicing up the frigid chill with a little Latin American music and dancing. Windsor's own musical group, Trio Fantasia, visited the Win-TV studio to perform a few songs and describe their group. Pedro, Manuela and Victor performed traditional pieces from Peru and Ecuador complete with vocals, guitar and dance. The group hopes to make a second program next month to both entertain and inform Windsor on Latin American Culture. Catch the program this month on channel 5 on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM, Fridays at 8:30 PM, and Saturdays at 2 PM.

Win-TV Celebrates Black History MonthOn Saturday, February 6th, the Windsor Historical Society had a special performance by Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium, featuring traditional African and Caribbean dance and music. There was plenty of audience participation and the event was enjoyable for the young and old alike. Check out the program guide for channel 5 to catch this mesmerizing and informational performance.

Tune in next Tuesday to see Barbara talk with former Hartford Mayor Thirman Milner about his political career as well as his newly published book "Up From Slavery."
